Spirtli ichimliklar inson organizmiga zararli ta’sir qiluvchi zararli odatlar guruhiga mansub bo‘lib, og'iz bo'shlig'ining shilliq qavati bilan mutanosiblikda bo’lganda uning shikastlanishiga olib keladi, keyinchalik shilliq qavat kasalliklariga olib keladi. Spirtli ichimliklarning qon tomirlariga zararli ta'siri hammaga ma'lum. Agar og'iz bo'shlig'iga qon ta'minoti buzilgan bo'lsa, shilliq qavat epiteliysining o'tkazuvchanligi oshadi, u osonlikcha shikastlanadi va infektsiyalanadi. Og'iz bo'shlig'i to'qimalarining turli kanserogenlarga sezgirligi oshadi. Alkogolizm va leykoplakiya, displaziya, og'iz bo'shlig'ining neoplazmalarining paydo bo'lishi o'rtasida aniq bog'liqlik mavjud.
