Patients with chronic kidney disease progress to end-stage renal failure, and approximately 86% are diagnosed with hypertension. Arterial hypertension is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, which are the main cause of morbidity and mortality among the dialysis population. Blood pressure values before and after dialysis <140/90 mmHg are recommended as optimal blood pressure. angiotensin II receptor antagonists, beta blockers and calcium channel blockers are recommended as the first choice drugs. Beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers reduce mortality from cardiovascular diseases and have a protective effect in high-risk patients. Antihypertensive drug therapy can effectively reduce blood pressure and is necessary for the vast majority of patients on hemodialysis.
